Aguilas
Costa Cálida (Murcia)
Águilas is located in the most southern tip of the Costa Cálida. It is a former Roman fishing port. Off the coast lies the island of Isla del Fraile, where traces and ruins from this Roman past can still be found. In 1579 on a high rock between Poniente and Levante beaches, the fortress of San Juan de las Águilas was built to defend the city against invaders. Always nice is the Aguilas Plaza Mall, many shops, bars, restaurants, chiringuitos, fitness center, pharmacy, etc.
